Minutes from Board of Trustees Meeting

May 5, 2005

Conference Call

 

 

Board Members Participating: Steve Rainey, Sherry Perry, Annabelle Fitts, Jerry Farley, Eric Wiseman, Kay Adamson, Denise Colley, Joe Fram, and Chuck Nelson.

 

Ex-Officio Members Participating: Judy Koch (WSSB Teachers Association), Berl Colley (Washington Council of the Blind), and Bonda Albers (Washington Federation of State Employees Local #1225)

 

Ex-Officio Members Absent:  Kathleen Brown (Parent Representative) and Michael Freeman (National Federation of the Blind of Washington).

 

WSSB Staff Members Participating: Craig Meador (Principal) and Janet Merz (recording secretary).

 

Jerry called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. 

 

Old Business

Jerry asked for approval for the following Board of Trustee meeting minutes: March 18-19, 2005; March 25, 2005; March 28, 2005; and April 27, 2005.  Chuck mentioned; Kay seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

New Business

 

Board of Trustees Award:

Discussion was held regarding the criteria for the Board of Trustees award.  Craig read the nominations as submitted by staff members.  Kay nominated Chris Porritt for the Board of Trustees Award; Eric seconded the motion.  The motion was approved unanimously.

 

Roy J. Brothers Award: 

A vote was held and Katy Todd was nominated and selected for the Roy J. Brothers Award.

 

The next Board meeting will be held on June 10th immediately following commencement (10:00 a.m.).
