The Instructional Resource Center (IRC) is housed in the Ogden Resource Center building on the Washington State School for the Blind campus in Vancouver, Washington. Tour the building!
The mission of the IRC is to support and advocate for the educational needs of students who are blind or visually impaired in the state of Washington. Services are available to public and private (non-parochial) schools and agencies providing educational programs of less than college level for students who are blind or visually impaired. Every district, agency or school must be registered with us as Account Holder to receive services for their students.
The IRC conducts an annual registration of students with visual impairments, then registers legally blind students with the American Printing House for the Blind (APH). Operations are funded through a grant administered by Washington Sensory Disabilities Services (WSDS).
